Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 Regulation 4 (2) and the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, means all employers have a legal duty to provide safe plant and equipment and every employer must ensure that equipment must be maintained in an efficient state, in efficient working order and in good repair.

Portable Appliance Testing is vital to ensure you have fully discharged your legal obligations and to give you and your employees peace of mind in their place of work.

Landlords and Lettings Agents

If you let property you must ensure the all electrical systems and appliances are safe and complaint with the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 1994.

The easiest way to comply is to have electrical circuits and appliances regularly inspected and tested by a competent person using the appropriated calibrated PAT testing equipment.

Do not fail to comply with the regulations, you could:

  • Be fined
  • Risk imprisonment
  • Be sued for civil damages
  • Invalidate your property insurance

These regulations are enforced by the Health and Safety Executive.
